You may have used products like Logmein or Gotomypc which are great products, but this is more than just remote access and a cell phone. What is presence and why is it a big deal? Again It tells you their status and who they are on the phone with realtime, you can even listen in or record conversations if you need those features. The average user can configure their extension to forward to their mobile number if they are travelling (aka follow me) from any PC with a browser. The worker and you are able to keep a lot more of the interoffice communication that you usually loose with a telecommuter. You can even extend the system to log what applications users are using which may feel a little "big brother", but most users are willing to accept this trade off to work from home.
